Procedure of Admission

Common Entrance Test for admission to Class VI and IX is held in December and is automated OMR based in subjects mentioned under the head "ADMISSION TEST". For admission to Class VI a candidate should not be less than 10 years and more than 12 years of age as on 31 March of the year of admission.

For admission to Class IX a candidate should not be less than 13 years and more than 15 years of age as on 31 March of the year of admission. Admission into Classes VI and IX is on the basis of available vacancies. Parents/students should also note that all admissions are in the category of Boarders only. No day scholars are allowed. Admissions are exclusively for boys. Important dates for admission in Rashtriya Military Schools are as under:-

  • (a) Last date of submission of Application Forms for Class VI & IX will be as per the Notification being published

  • (b) Date of Written Examination for Class VI & Class IX to be intimated to all successfully registered candidates through registered Email IDs / Mobile No.

Reservations Of seats

General Guidlines :

(a) 70% for wards of JCOs/OR of Army , Navy and AF ( including Exservicemen).

(b) 30% for wards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians.

(c) 50 seats are reserved for wards of service personnel Killed in Action. Note: 15% and 7.5% seats are reserved for SC and ST in all categories.

Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. The Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Sainik Schools prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers. At present there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools across the country.

Sainik Schools offer admission at the level of Class VI and Class IX. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).

Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved 35 New Sainik Schools, which operate in partnership with NGOs/private schools/State Governments. These approved New Sainik Schools function under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society. These approved New Sainik Schools offer admission to the Sainik School stream of Class VI, through AISSEE 2024.
